A Medicare rebate is available for face-to-face individual counselling sessions with Counselling, Career, and Consultancy Services if you see your GP for a mental healthcare plan before attending. (ask for a ‘long appointment’ when you see the GP). A rebate is not available for sessions that are primarily couple counselling sessions.
Remote counselling and clinical supervision is available if prearranged via Skype or FaceTime. Medicare does NOT provide a rebate for this service.
Clients of the Insurance Commission of Western Australia are welcome.
This service has an outreach programme counsellor for Veteran and Veterans Families Counselling Service.
If you have an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) and you know your employer will pay for sessions ask at your workplace if you can elect your own counselling service as some workplaces are flexible with the services they use alongside their main EAP provider.
